Read time: 3 minutes. Hello Reader, Happy New Year. I’m sure you’ve already seen your fair share of messages wishing you a fantastic year ahead, filled with resolutions, goals, and grand ambitions. So I want to talk to you about something else... Focus. People rarely talk about the fact that success isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing less and focusing on the one thing that truly matters, just like a domino. And the top 1% of entrepreneurs in the world have known this for decades. Specifically, since 1983 which was when a physicist named Lorne Whitehead published a discovery: a single domino can topple another domino 50% larger than itself. Start with one small tile, and, theoretically, you could knock over a domino the size of a skyscraper in a matter of steps. Here's the kicker: this isn't just about physics, it's about life. Every wildly successful person you admire knows this. Instead of trying to tackle everything at once, they focus on one domino. They channel their energy into the one action that sets off a chain reaction of wins. Take Bill Gates, for example. In his early days, his domino wasn’t “build a tech empire” or “become a billionaire.” It was to master programming. That single focus created momentum that eventually led to Microsoft dominating the tech world. Or Serena Williams. Her domino? Perfecting her serve. A small piece of her game, but the foundation of her dominance. If you don’t know it, here’s how you can find it in less than 5 minutes:
2. Simplify ruthlessly: Forget the long to-do list. Write down one priority for each day, and nail it. Remember, busy doesn’t equal productive. 3. Trust the ripple effect: You don’t need to tackle everything. Just focus on the next domino, then the next. Research from Stanford University shows that focusing on one goal at a time increases the likelihood of success by over 80%. Multitasking, on the other hand, divides your energy and kills momentum. Reader, If you want 2025 to be different, start by knocking over your first domino. Hit reply and let me know, I’d love to hear about it. Here’s to a year of intentional action and big wins. Cheers, Clara P.S. If you’re ready to dive deeper into this mindset, keep an eye out for Saturday’s email. I’ll be sharing practical tools to help you stay laser-focused on your domino throughout the year. |
